Into the Woods

Into the Woods

Growing up in South Texas formed my idea of woods as something consisting of sparse mesquite trees and prickly pears. Moving to East Texas has flipped this notion upside down. Just north of Houston lies a pine curtain that blankets East Texas. Several National and State parks provide a glimpse into this green wonderland. One such park is Huntsville State Park which offers a winding trail that encircles the park, providing a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
